Muzzle
brakes aren't magic, they reduce recoil by redirecting exiting
gas. One works about as well as another. We should
know because we have made tens of thousands, in many styles
and port arrangements. What's important is that they are
straight and the threads are perpendicular with the base.
The only way to get the base and threads perpendicular is to
thread, not tap, them on a lathe.
Our brakes come in a variety of sizes from 5/8 inch to 1-1/4
inch with threads from 7/16 inch to 3/4 inch.
